It helps organisations prevent, identify, and address bribery risks through effective controls and procedures. The standard follows the common management system structure used across ISO standards, making it easier to integrate with existing systems such as ISO 9001 and strengthen organisational governance and transparency.

ISO 37001 addresses both bribery committed by the organisation, its personnel, or business partners, and bribery directed towards the organisation in relation to its activities.
